FAQs

Is this a replacement for a full nursing pillow, or do I need both? I'm trying to figure out what I actually need.

This arm pillow is designed to complement, not replace, a full nursing pillow. It serves a different purpose—it cushions your arm and wrist while you hold your baby, reducing strain during feeding sessions. A full nursing pillow (like a Boppy) wraps around your waist and supports the baby's weight, while this arm pillow specifically supports your forearm and helps position baby's head comfortably. Many moms use both together for maximum comfort, or use the arm pillow alone for quick feedings, bottle feeding, or when traveling since it's more portable than a full nursing pillow.

Will this work for both breastfeeding and bottle feeding, or is it designed specifically for one?

This arm pillow works great for both breastfeeding and bottle feeding! In fact, many moms find it especially helpful for bottle feeding since you're often holding the bottle with one hand while supporting baby's head with your arm. The ergonomic shape cushions your forearm whether you're nursing or bottle feeding, and it's perfect for dads, partners, or caregivers who are bottle feeding. It's also useful for simply holding your baby during cuddle time or when they fall asleep in your arms.

How do I clean this if my baby spits up on it or it gets milk stains? Is it machine washable?

This arm pillow is hand wash only, so you'll need to clean it gently by hand rather than tossing it in the washing machine. For spit-up or milk stains, treat them immediately by rinsing the affected area with cold water. Then hand wash using mild detergent or baby-safe soap and lukewarm water, gently squeezing (not wringing) to clean. Rinse thoroughly until all soap is removed, then gently press out excess water and lay flat or hang to air dry. To minimize how often you need to wash it, many moms keep a muslin cloth, burp cloth, or small towel over the pillow during feeding sessions for easy protection and quick cleanup.

My baby is already 3 months old, is it too late to get this, or will I still get enough use out of it?

It's definitely not too late! While many moms start using arm pillows from birth, they remain useful throughout the entire feeding journey and beyond. At 3 months, you're likely feeding 6-8 times per day, and you could be breastfeeding or bottle feeding for many more months. The arm pillow continues to be helpful as your baby gets heavier (reducing arm fatigue), and some parents even use it when holding their toddler during bedtime routines. You'll likely get 6-12+ months of use out of it, making it still worthwhile.

Is this bulky to travel with, or can it actually fit in a diaper bag for on-the-go feedings?

One of the main advantages of this arm pillow is its compact, lightweight design compared to full nursing pillows. It's much more travel-friendly and can typically fit in a large diaper bag or be strapped to the outside. It's perfect for feeding sessions at restaurants, doctor's appointments, visiting family, or car trips. While it's not as tiny as a burp cloth, it's significantly more portable than a wraparound nursing pillow. Many moms keep one at home and one in their diaper bag for convenience.
